Roles and responsibilities Maintaining full set of accounts as per IFRS using Company’s ERP system. Ensuring that books of accounts are up to date at all times. Ensuring that all control and other accounts are reconciled at least once a month. Ensuring that all taxes are paid before the due date using iTax system. Assisting FC in negotiations with Insurers and ensures that all declaration are sent to the Insurers within 25 days from the end of each month. Ensuring that all reports required by the Internal Auditor, working Directors and heads of department are sent within the time allowed. Assisting the Financial Controller in production of all reports required by the BoardOf Directors Continuously monitors all procedures and controls and suggests necessary changes to the Financial Controller and Management to improve work flow, cut out duplication, improve internal controls to guard against frauds, etc. Ensuring that all creditors are paid within the due dates and cheques are courierDelivered to creditors before the due date. Suggests business strategies to generate shareholder value Overseeing the coordination and activities of the external auditor and ensuring all audit issues are resolved

Ensuring all project companies reports (weekly, monthly and quarterly) are submitted timely and are of high standard.Reviewing flash reports and management accounts to provide analysis and interpret financial data for the purpose of determining financial performance. This includes:-i. Reviewing project companies’ performance (P&L) against budgets ( variance analysis)ii. Reviewing project companies’ balance sheet and working capital ratios against budgetiii. Ensuring project companies’ cash-flows are prepared and monitored.Preparation of monthly and quarterly group reports for senior management review and ensuring they are submitted to AKFED (Aga Khan Foundation For Economic Development)Reviewing project companies’ AKDN (Aga Khan Development Network) quarterly reports. Driving and coordinating the annual budget process for IPS (Industrial Promotion Services)Preparation of the consolidated IPS East Africa budgetProving support to the project companies where there are any gaps in financial accounting with the aim of enhancing their financial reporting.
