About Kenneth Mckeating
I have worked with children, young people and their families for over twelve years and during this time I have gained a wide range of skills from child-focused care and education to managing teams of various sizes. Based originally in Devon and relocating to London in 2018 I have continued to study and practice honing my pedagogy.Supporting qualifications gained since leaving university has provided invaluable theoretical and practical experience working within the Early Years and primary sectors. My additional role as an Early Years Advisory Board member for Torbay Council allowed me my first advances into a world of leadership, best practice & policy implementation outside that of my own job.A career with the YMCA allowed me to demonstrate an innate ability to work with & care for children from all walks of life & in addition to this, an ability to lead & manage different environments. From nursery work, holiday and after school clubs through to the care of vulnerable young children in a 1-1 capacity I have learnt a great deal and helped to mould the organisation into an inspiring place to work or learn.Leaving the YMCA to join Imperial College London in 2018 became the next chapter of my professional career as I embark on new roles working with children & look to advance practical skills & theoretical knowledge. I took on another senior leadership role in spring 2022 and support a team to deliver high quality experiences for all.
