Serve as Chief Operating Officer of a fully-accredited 80-bed VA Medical Center with 5 community-based sites of care serving more than 30,000 unique Veterans across a 24-county catchment area. In this capacity, I:Oversee the effective use of facilities and resources through executive management of fiscal, facilities engineering, environmental management, supply chain management, human resources, health administration (scheduling), prosthetics (DME), nutrition and food, police and security, privacy, and voluntary service lines.Maintain accountability for planning, directing, controlling, and coordinating activities critical to the achievement of the Medical Center operating plan, particularly in areas related to achieving financial, capital, life safety, and patient care targets. Maintain compliance with applicable Federal laws, VA and VHA Directives, applicable accrediting body standards (e.g., TJC), and relevant other standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, ASHRAE, etc).Ensure systems are in place to attract, train, develop, and retain staff to ensure the the facility meets quality, operations, and financial targets. Ensure environment and accountable services meet or exceed customer service standards.

Directly responsible for leading operation and growth of VA facilities in the Charlotte area. The Charlotte VA Health Care Center (HCC) provides a full range of outpatient (Primary Care, Mental Health, Med/Surg specialties, pharmacy and ancillary (imaging, lab, pharmacy) services, including development of complex services such as ambulatory surgery, dialysis, dental, rehab medicine, and endoscopic procedures. At nearly 425,000 total square feet and approximately 375+ staff members (including approximately 90 licensed independent practitioners), the HCC is the largest VA facility of its kind in the United States and serves Veterans from a 10 county area around Charlotte.The Charlotte VA Outpatient Clinic provides Primary Care, Mental Health, basic Imaging, Optometry, Lab, and Compensation and Pension services to Veterans living in North Charlotte and the surrounding area with a staff of nearly 50 staff including 10 physicians.Combined, Charlotte VA health care facilities served more than 35,000 unique Veterans and delivered more than 300,000 patient encounters in Fiscal Year 2018

Serve as a Program Analyst in the VHA Strategic Planning Service.
