In this role, I supported the Construction Manager at the KVMRT Depot full time where I managed the activities at the Depot prior to handover for system integration testing which included post delivery inspections, dynamic testing and commissioning, modifications, interface testing and type tests of these driverless fully automatic trains. I also participated in various testing and commissioning activities during this time such as traction and braking tests , ride quality and system integration testing. I was also involved with ensuring the trains completed all relevant pre-requisites prior to handover to the operator and client such as final handover inspections and regulatory bodies approvals.My role from my previous position of managing three consultancies related to Rolling Stock still remained with the same responsibilities previously mentioned. In addition, I was also responsible for ensuring seamless integration between Electric Trains and other interfacing parties and to monitor, coordinate, control and report the progress of design, manufacturing, delivery and installation of the Electric Trains. I also participated in various factory acceptance tests and first article inspections for major components such as bogies , couplers and gangways. Prior to being a Rolling Stock Engineer, I spent approximately 1 year as a Systems Engineer mainly being involved in the Trackworks Department where i was closely involved in the preparation of the tender documents and design interface aspects as well as costing aspects.My role also includes the managing three separate consultancies related to Rolling Stock still remains.The consultancies cover the following areas :- Wheel-Rail Interface - Collector Shoe-Power Rail interface- Rolling Stock Fire SafetyIn this aspect, some are my responsibilities are as follows:-i) First point of contact with the consultants and the Contractors of the Rolling Stock, Trackworksii) Ensure they add value to the project itself by contributing their specialist advice in the review of design documents, interface issue as well as during testing and commissioning. iii) Review the feedback provided by the consultants and evaluate their impact on the contracts if any and necessity together with the relevant departmentsiv) Ensure the consultants meet their deliverables in a timely manner within budgetv) Involved in planning their activities during the project to maximize their contribution to the project.
