Anaemia is a leading cause of maternal death during pregnancy globally. Anaemia is a deficiency or lack of Iron folic acid supplementation which is present in health centers. But uptake by pregnant women is low. On this note, I'm leading a behavioral change communication strategy in sokoto and kebbi state for pregnant women to access quality ANC and consumption of Iron Folic Acid through out pregnancy. A project funded by Nutrition International Canada. Part of our strategy of reaching beneficiaries is through radio jingles and drama series encouraging support to pregnant women by their spouses, mother in-laws, community leaders, community healthcare providers and the social environment. Through my engagement, we have been able to reach over one million women and others with messages on behavioural change which has lead to increased ANC attendance and consumption of Iron folic acid. I also engage with relevant Government stakeholders to increase support to community health centers such that will create an enabling environment for pregnant women to always visit the health centers. Other benefits of the projects is increased awareness creation on family planning services which the women receive during ANC visits. I have contributed in providing trainings for over 200 healthcare workers on quality ANC and family planning delivery services.

Organizing and participating in monthly CMAM program strengthening meetings between SMOH, UNICEF, and other Stakeholders in the state. Involves in the weekly monitoring and reporting of RUTF prescription and distribution per OTP per program LGA for needs assessment, forecasting and accountability. Providing daily supervision of data entry tram to ensure progress and quality of data entry. Monitoring of individual record from study sites for data entry, in coordination with field investigators and study staff to ensure secured reception and storage of individual records.

With supervision from the country rep, perform all duties relating to awareness creation, sensitization, advocacy engagements to increase demand on family needs and commodities. Leading advocacy to the ministry of health for an all inclusive family planning centers and workers for youths and run by youths. Raising awareness on discrimination of services for young persons willing to get services and information. Advocating for young persons inclusion in decision making and involvement in design, implementation, and monitoring of family planning choices as it affects them. Working with relevant radio and media houses to promote jingles, series, and talk show on family planning and reproductive health and right. Advocating to the ministry of education to include a complete and comprehensive sexuality education curriculum in secondary schools. Engaging with young persons to discover areas of needs and factors affecting poor or non consumption of family planning service. Creating contents on social media for education and awareness on family planning and reproductive health.

Conducting the LGA level long lasting insecticidal nets (LLIN) replacement and distribution campaign for the Global fund malaria project.

Routinely perform quality checks of monitoring and evaluation work , ensuring that planned monitoring and evaluation are taking place in time and are following set guidelines. Assisting in the coordination of capacity building activities for CBOs. Ensuring appropriate program monitoring and reporting. Supporting the M&E manager with monitoring data and relevant findings in preparation for the partnership, coordination and review meetings. Closely worked with staff to ensure they follow correct procedures and criteria during beneficiary registrations.
