Several years ago, I led a team of I/O psychologists and senior executives to develop the TALENTx7® Assessment. This self-assessment measures the construct of learning agility. Learning agility is the ability and willingness to learn from experience. It is one of the most frequently used indicators for identifying leadership talent. Rather than basing such decisions on hearsay, innuendo, or simply personal relationships, the TALENTx7® enables organizations to apply science to the art of high potential identification and development. It is the most comprehensive measure of learning agility on the market, providing scores on seven different facets of learning agility, as well as diagnosing specific behavioral tendencies and potential career derailers for each one.Today, the De Meuse Leadership Group LLC incorporates a global network of more than 250 certified coaches on the TALENTx7® Assessment. I have strategic partnerships with Leader's Gene Consulting (China) and Lee Hecht Harrison (USA). Coaches from countries ranging from Australia, India, South Africa, Singapore, Turkey, England, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Brazil, Canada, and cities throughout the USA market the TALENTx7® to their clients.During my 30+ year career as an I/O psychologist, I have purposefully integrated the two worlds of higher education and business. As an academician, I have been on the faculties of Iowa State University and the University of Wisconsin. As a practitioner, I have been employed as an internal management consultant for Union Carbide Corporation (in Tennessee) and the Intergraph Corporation (in Alabama). In addition, I have been an external management consultant or executive coach at such organizations as Nestle USA, Lucent Technologies, Xcel Energy, Presto Industries, RSM, Ayres Associates, the Mayo Clinic (Luther Hospital), and the Department of Energy.I was Vice President of Global Research for six years at Korn Ferry International when we developed viaEDGE and ProSpective - two of the most used client assessments in the firm's history. I have written eight books, published more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles, and presented numerous research papers at national and international conferences. My talents as a scientist and experiences as a business leader enable me to bridge theory and practice, enhancing talent assessment, leadership development, and business strategy.

    Due to the success of the TALENTx7® Assessment and my leadership consulting practice, I sunset the Wisconsin Management Group. My new consulting firm – the De Meuse Leadership Group LLC – incorporates a global network of more than 250 coaches certified on the TALENTx7®. The firm specializes in leader identification, executive coaching, and research on high potential talent. The transitions from individual contributor to supervisor to manager to executive are not easy. Roughly one-half of all individuals cannot make them and ultimately derail. Others eventually make it but significantly struggle along the way. Unfortunately, many people feel compelled to enter managerial roles, because they believe it is the only path to earning higher salaries and organizational status. We at the De Meuse Leadership Group LLC recognize that all employees can contribute greatly to a company’s success. Our approach is to employ psychometric measures – rather than intuition or conjecture – to identify those employees who are most suited for management. Through the scientific assessment of their strengths and developmental needs, tailored plans are created and executive coaching is provided.
