Develop new diagnostic systems for Bio-Medical Point of Care and field analytical application. This unit is field portable and provides optical imaging of samples from 20X to 80X (objective magnification). The unit is nearly fully automatic to minimize the training and expertise required of the operator.The system includes a family of disposable cassettes that acquire liquid or solid samples and process them in a sealed environment. The unit is also equipped with WiFi, Bluetooth, and optionally cell phone links, as well as GPS to allow data from test to automatically be uploaded to a cloud system for advanced data processing snf integration with "big data" resources for tracking and forecasting disease transmission.

Develop a variety of sensors and algorithms for use in automotive and autonomous vehicles. This includes biometric sensors for monitoring the driver detecting drowsiness and attention to the road, as well as sensors to detect wet or black ice road conditions. The sensor systems are part of an edge computing architecture that reduces the amount of data necessary to transmit to the vehicles CNN core and thereby lowers power and cost requirements.

Responsible for identifying and developing new technologies associated with imaging sensors and image processing. This included developing new pixel and sensor formats, advanced plasmonic and stacked wafer architectures. Lead a focused effort on machine vision development including 3D perception and data extraction for robotics. I also lead program partnerships with universities and companies developing Gigapixel cameras (DARPA - Aware and Argus camera systems), multi-array imaging sensors, computational optical systems, and sensors with built-in facial recognition and tracking.

Developed unique high resolution endoscope and pill camera systems. Providing very high resolution imaging for diagnostics of the gastrointestinal tract. Also, developed an ultrasonic tracking and localized imaging system architecture, allowing detection of disease spread outside the intestinal tract.
