Cattle Buyer
CurrentI started as a scalehouse coordinator/rover buyer. I have scheduled the cattle for multiple plants as well as covered buyer’s areas and procured fat cattle across Nebraska and Kansas. I was promoted to a senior buyer position after less than a year, and bought cattle in the eastern Colorado territory. Since then, I have managed the cattle procurement for Tyson’s beef plant in Washington through the Easterday scandal and the ensuing fed cattle supply crisis. Along with our team, I rebuilt the plant’s supply and inventory of cattle through contracting direct ship Canadian cattle, procuring fat cattle domestically, as well as purchasing and placing Canadian and native feeder cattle in custom feeding operations across the Northwest. I am currently responsible for the fat cattle procurement of this plant, and the oversight of the marketing of our custom fed cattle throughout the Pacific Northwest.
