Currently a technical lead within the Pathfinding team. My team's goal is to understand the performance limits of our single and two qubit quantum logic gates and design mitigation strategies to enable high fidelity operation.

- Coordinated and integrated optical, electrical, and mechanical subsystems into system model H1 ion trap quantum computer- Developed critical device primitives, including single and two qubit gates, readout, state preparation, and laser cooling- Served as contributing member to team defining and deriving technical requirements for ion trap quantum computer- Developed and documented standard operation procedures for running commercial quantum computer, including start-up procedures, calibration procedures, and basic maintenance- Contributed to the design, construction, and verification of first generation cryogenic, XHV physics package for ion trap quantum computer- Demonstrated industry leading quantum volume of 512- Demonstrated real-time fault tolerant quantum error correction in a distance 3 color code.

- Applied knowledge of physics and mathematics to address outstanding questions in science, engineering, and emerging quantum technologies.- Conceived and developed a novel, hybrid quantum device capable of mediating interactions between mechanical structures and single quantum emitters for applications in quantum computing and networking.- Constructed a scanning, optical confocal microscope integrated with a closed-cycle cryostat for imaging single quantum emitters embedded in diamond mechanical resonators- Collaborated with a team of 3-6 individuals of varying scientific backgrounds to construct and realize the hybrid mechanical device.- Modeled vibrational mode structure and stress/displacement profiles of mechanical objects in COMSOL- Developed theoretical models to describe the interaction of crystal strain with the orbital and spin degrees of freedom of single defects in solids- Collaborated with a team of 8 scientists from the fields of physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, and materials science to construct a modular photolithography device for engineering surfaces through sequential, photochemical reactions.- Constructed a stroboscopic measurement circuit that synchronizes data acquisition boards, pulse generators, lasers, and piezoelectric actuation circuits.

- Collaborated with a group of 5 scientists to construct a modular quantum device comprising trapped atomic ions, single photons, and phonons for applications in quantum information science and communication.- Wrote a custom program in Labview to re-crystallize trapped ion chains- Performed novel quantum control techniques to improve the entanglement fidelity of phonon-mediated quantum gates- Performed and optimized photon-mediated entanglement between two trapped ions separated by 1 meter

- Completed undergraduate thesis: “State Detection of a Trapped Ion Qubit Using Photon Arrival Times”- Completed an FPGA based peripheral device used to analyze trapped ion micromotion- Constructed various electronics and optical devices including PIDs, confocal cavities, high voltage ramps, and quadrant photodiodes.- Handled and analyzed large data sets using Mathematica and Microsoft Excel
