Yosemite Close Up tours offers in-depth, yet relaxed, fun, & informative tours of Yosemite National Park. Utilizing smaller vans, we can stop at localities where other tour companies cannot, so that we can show our guests aspects of Yosemite that they could not otherwise experience. our stops are engaging and fun, for children and adults of all ages, and our tours are also informative about the human and natural history of what many people consider is the "Crown Jewel" of the National Park System.

I am working as the principle designer for the Andean Permaculture Center (APC), near Cuzco, Peru. APC/HWF is working to better the lives of the Q'ero people, descendants of the Incas, who still live in tiny hamlets in the Andean highlands by improving their nutrition and hygiene and by facilitating educational opportunities for them. We are working with them on micro-enterprises, focused on improving the quality of and marketing of their weavings. We are introducing rainbow trout aquaculture and the growing and processing of various plants, including Maca (Google it!), into natural remedies and food supplements for local consumption and possibly for export.

Taught various courses in forest business management, sustainable agroforestry, Hawaiian natural history, silviculture, ecosystem management, etc. Created management planning teams and directed the development of ecosystem management plans. Planned and conducted field trips to various sites relevant to course curricula. Developed student learning outcomes for each course. Participated on college accreditation team.

Wrote business plan, built plant nursery, incorporated plant propagation, sustainable farm & landscape design, sales and marketing, and all other aspects of small business management into this successful business. Sold it after 17 years in business.

Consulted with various community organizations and government agencies on resources management issues, including:• Writing & managing grants to finance planning efforts, conducting research, and wroting technical reports. • Serving on the Boards of Directors of various resources management non-profit organizations.• Planning and implementing programs and projects to develop human and natural resources, utilizing sustainable methods and systems.• Facilitating community members to plan the management of Hawaii Natural Area Reserve through series of contracts with Hawaii State D.L.N.R.• Coordinating community energy planning initiative, including organizing public meetings, evaluating energy-efficiency & renewable energy technologies, writing and distributing media publicity, etc.
