I am responsible for simplifying and explaining complex regulatory, quantitative, and technical information clearly and understandably for U.S. Navy Sailors and external stakeholders. This involves planning, developing, and editing various technical manuals using military specifications and IETM software. I also assist in writing, editing, and approving desktop guides, internal policies, and technical writing guides to clarify Technical Publications Department requirements for technical documentation. This involves tasks such as writing, rewriting, and editing publications to effectively communicate all required specifications, instructions, and information to diverse audiences. Additionally, I acquire subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, subject matter experts, and engineers, observing production methods, and referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals. I supervise the preparation of illustrative materials and select required drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts. I am responsible for maintaining and updating multiple documents totaling over 7,000 pages while incorporating end user/customer feedback and updating the content as engineering information changes, advances, or as a result of redesign.I use Microsoft Office products and Adobe Professional daily and have experience with the VULCAN authoring tool. I assist customers and system analysts with documentation-related budgets, project plans, timelines, and schedules. I also develop program plan documents, briefs, reports, and other documents such as training materials, user manuals, and other documents as requested. Furthermore, I develop Standard Operating Procedures as required and foster a positive working environment while building solid work relationships with other teams, groups, and the customer.

I have extensive experience in training and mentoring submarine Weapons Department leaders in day-to-day production and scheduling refurbishment maintenance operations. I have overseen more than 20,000 man-hours of maintenance over a 25-day period, provided guidance on procedural disciplines, inspection guidelines, best practices, lessons learned, and reference documentation for eight submarines and 16 crews.I also serve as a planner, analyst, and advisor to senior leadership on various program, technical, and security-related issues that have a significant impact on the Strategic Weapons Systems mission. In addition, I review, plan, and screen all Weapons Department maintenance items for eight submarines to ensure 100% mission readiness.Furthermore, I analyze maintenance and trend data for eight submarines, resulting in improved efficiency and a reduction in the number of days a submarine is required to be in-port to complete all required maintenance.

I was responsible for advising the Commanding Officer on all matters related to the training and operation of the Trident II D5 Strategic Weapons System, with a focus on security, safety, reliability, and maintenance. My duties included reviewing directives, organizing training programs, and administering long-term maintenance plans.I also provided leadership and supervision to over 60 personnel across five divisions within the Weapons Department. This included planning and executing training for technicians responsible for maintaining ballistic missiles and launching systems, as well as coordinating maintenance programs and overseeing operational and situational reports.Additionally, I managed internal and external communications, coordinated unit embarkations, and oversaw the operation of the local area network in support of our strategic mission. I also played a key role in planning, scheduling, and evaluating training programs, reviewing naval correspondence, and coordinating work schedules for the department.Furthermore, I prioritized departmental work, reviewed and monitored divisional programs, provided guidance for on-the-job performance, and mediated inter-departmental differences. Additionally, I assisted in the implementation of policy statements, operational orders, and directives.

I was responsible for all human resource aspects of the Weapons Department personnel, including professional development, formality, discipline, personnel evaluations, qualifications, equal opportunity, respect, and a culture of excellence. I managed two multi-million dollar explosive handling facilities containing more than eight million dollars of special weapons handling and support equipment.As the Nuclear Weapons Accountability Officer Assistant, I meticulously managed and prepared documentation and was accountable for transferring more than 200 assets between the facility, the Department of Energy, and Submarines.In my role as the Wharf Duty Officer, I directly provided leadership, mentorship, and supervision of more than 10 Officers, 20 Chief Petty Officers, and 100 junior sailors while coordinating with nine contracting partners to complete thousands of ordnance logistic movements. My efforts resulted in all Submarines being able to complete their assigned missions to support national security. I worked in close coordination with Navy Engineering, Government, and military contractors to provide problem resolution and action on all Trouble Failure Reports and Trouble Failure Inspections Rejection Reports.As a Nuclear Weapons Handling Supervisor, I was a recognized expert in the areas of procedural compliance/discipline, quality assurance, missile service log management, qualification program management, and problem resolution.Finally, as the Command Duty Officer, I was responsible for the operations of more than 12 ordnance production buildings, error and problem resolution, security systems, and transportation of all ordnance within a 100+ acre facility.

I scheduled and supervised all preventative and corrective maintenance for the missile, launcher, fire control, and support systems. I also provided technical oversight in operating, maintaining, and repairing the Strategic Weapon System and associated components. I ensured all maintenance was performed according to strict procedural compliance guidelines and achieved 100% weapons system readiness. I supervised the performance of all operational tests, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to the ballistic missile weapons systems. Directly led and supervised 22 technicians who aligned, calibrated, troubleshot, and repaired all areas of the missile system, including digital, electrical, and electronic computer systems, using standard electronic test equipment such as meters, oscilloscopes, logic probes, and logic analyzers; troubleshot and repaired water cooling and heating systems as well as control systems using electromechanical devices, hydraulics, and pneumatics; used computers for word processing as well as other administrative record keeping tasks.I oversaw the conduct of testing and calibration of instrumentation, gauges, and sensors; expertly able to troubleshoot and diagnose problems; maintained Local Area Network (LAN) logs and records; completed maintenance reports; inventoried equipment; Served as a Nuclear Weapons Handling Supervisor; supervised the work of subordinates; prepares weekly maintenance schedules and manages maintenance operations; Coordinates and directs maintenance programs; ensures compliance with Nuclear Weapons Safety Rules; prepares reports and briefings; prepares quarterly maintenance schedules; may serve as a shop supervisor.

I completed all assigned qualifications while I used the basic skills learned in school to develop a new knowledge base and perfect new skills relating to troubleshooting, repairing, and testing the ballistic missile systems, launcher systems, fire control systems, guidance subsystems, related subsystems, and various digital computers, electrical components, electro-mechanical, and electronic systems, using standard electronic test equipment such as meters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, A/C and D/C power supplies, and standard hand tools.

I developed the skills to operate, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair ballistic missile weapons systems. Aligns, calibrates, troubleshoots, and repairs all areas of the missile fire control system, guidance system, launcher system, and various test systems; troubleshoots and repairs digital and microprocessor-based electronic systems and a mainframe computer system; troubleshoots and repairs power supplies and other solid-state analog circuits as well as control systems using electromechanical devices, hydraulics, and pneumatics; uses standard electronic test equipment such as meters, oscilloscopes, logic probes, and logic analyzers; uses and maintains an optical system; uses DOS-based computers for word processing as well as other administrative record keeping tasks. Able to troubleshoot and diagnose problems; maintain logs and records; complete maintenance reports; inventory equipment.

I completed Boot Camp and Strategic Weapons training. I have learned terms specific to electricity and electronics, and can use basic algebra and arithmetic, including power of ten notation, to analyze basic electric and electronic circuits for pertinent qualities. I am also able to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators to troubleshoot circuits, recognize circuit components by inspection, correctly assemble electronic and electric circuits using schematic diagrams, and convert between number systems including decimal, octal, binary, hexadecimal, one's complement, and two's complement. Additionally, I can analyze digital circuits, including and/or gates and flip-flops, and analyze counters, encoders, decoders, multiplexers, adders, and registers.
