CurrentI am responsible for simplifying and explaining complex regulatory, quantitative, and technical information clearly and understandably for U.S. Navy Sailors and external stakeholders. This involves planning, developing, and editing various technical manuals using military specifications and IETM software. I also assist in writing, editing, and approving desktop guides, internal policies, and technical writing guides to clarify Technical Publications Department requirements for technical documentation. This involves tasks such as writing, rewriting, and editing publications to effectively communicate all required specifications, instructions, and information to diverse audiences. Additionally, I acquire subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, subject matter experts, and engineers, observing production methods, and referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals. I supervise the preparation of illustrative materials and select required drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts. I am responsible for maintaining and updating multiple documents totaling over 7,000 pages while incorporating end user/customer feedback and updating the content as engineering information changes, advances, or as a result of redesign.I use Microsoft Office products and Adobe Professional daily and have experience with the VULCAN authoring tool. I assist customers and system analysts with documentation-related budgets, project plans, timelines, and schedules. I also develop program plan documents, briefs, reports, and other documents such as training materials, user manuals, and other documents as requested. Furthermore, I develop Standard Operating Procedures as required and foster a positive working environment while building solid work relationships with other teams, groups, and the customer.
