Phd Candidate (Research Assistant)Queen'S University Nov 2014 - Jun 2019Ontario, CanadaMy thesis is focused on the long-term durability of natural building materials, specifically addressing the replacement of conventional fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) systems with sustainable alternatives for new construction and rehabilitation, including the use of flax fibres, pine oil and furfural. In addition, I mentor other doctoral and master's degree students as well as supervise undergraduate students through their research programs. This ranges from project development and fabrication to testing and analysis. My involvement also spans to other fields, such as Chemical Engineering and the use of cellulose nanocrystals for structural applications. Furthermore, I have been involved in numerous peer review processes and grant applications. -
