Operating as a contractor for Cox Communications. As a certified FOSP fiber technician.Maintaining the Cox Fiber Network includes Fiber splicing, preventive maintenance, Repair, and upgrades to the Fiber Network. Having the ability to complete required tasks while following Local, Federal, and Industries rules and standards. The ability to operate and demonstrate proper bucket safety training.The ability to perform final testing of fiber design path and interpret OTDR results for troubleshooting purposes. Preparation and Installation of fiber optic cables in various outside plant enclosures. As well as wall-mounted enclosures.Performs splicing and maintenance of outside plant fiber optic networks by following dedicated splice plans in Excel format and accompanying system prints.
