My main area of interest over the last decade has been on efforts to make the built environment more sustainable.Currently, I'm working part-time as communications chair for Better Atlanta Transit, a nonprofit working toward more equitable and sustainable mobility solution for all Atlantans. I maintain my integrity as a journalist by drawing a clear line on potential conflicts of interest.A few highlights:• I've built large local audiences, and have conceived and hosted both live and radio talk shows.• I've won awards as a business, political and investigative reporter and have edited the award-winning work of news reporters, feature writers, critics and graphic designers.• I've managed teams that included up to 24 full-time journalists and a similar number of freelancers.• I've cultivated a strong network of sources, colleagues and mentors, incorporating public servants, business leaders, civic leaders, journalists and others.• I possess exceptional knowledge of Atlanta, Georgia and the Southeast, particularly in the areas of transportation, energy, construction, politics, business and the environment.• I've overseen the development of successful blogs and other websites and have served as a consultant to journalists making the transition to new media.• I lead several civic efforts, serving as president of the Candler Park Neighborhood Organization, co-founding the non-profit Candler Park Conservancy and leading the wildly successful Fall Fest in Candler Park.Specialties: Reporting, writing and editing.
