Resolved challenging issues in small-molecule pharmaceutical development by employing appropriate achiral and chiral separations methodologies (including reverse-phase, HILIC, and SFC mechanisms), spectroscopic investigations (including Raman and infrared characterization), and other physical characterization approaches (including X-ray powder diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry, and thermogravimetric analyses). Identified impurities and degradants utilizing high resolution mass spectrometry. Maintained informal Best Practices documents to facilitate training and education of new group members. Participated in ongoing and ad hoc groups to improve laboratory and IT collaborations, develop new information management tools, and evaluate electronic lab notebooks and LIMS systems.

Provided analytical chemistry support for a small CRO, including: LC/MS analyses on a wide variety of pharmaceutical and industrial products; structure elucidation; metabolite production and scale-up via microsomal incubations; and impurity isolation and identification. Analyzed small molecule pharmaceutical compounds, oligonucleotides, antibodies (intact, reduced, and deglycosylated), and antibody-drug conjugates by LC/MS. Resolved product investigations for customers.
