I like to spot and develop connections between things that are not always easy to see. For example, I develop insights and tools from social network theory and apply them to financial markets to create effective algorithmic trading strategies. My interest in designing automated systems is not limited to trading, but extends to expert advice systems. I designed, and non-exclusively license a highly-regarded automated pension advice system to Bank Mizrahi Tefahot, Israel’s fourth largest bank. I founded WakeUp which leverages robo advice technology and emotionally intelligent customer experience design to provide value to mandatory defined contribution retirement savers. Prior to entering the business world, I was a tenured professor in the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, CUNY. During my time at Zicklin, I received numerous awards for the quality of my teaching and numerous competitive grants to fund my research, the findings of which were published in leading academic journals. I love interacting with students and continue to teach financial analysis and fintech at Bar Ilan University.
