The Montclair Institute for Lifelong Learning's goal is to foster opportunities for in-depth, high-level learning and socialization for 55+ adults offered for free at different locations throughout Montclair and online. Since 2020, I have led classes in film study and discussion and the short story.

Montclair Film's mission is to engage, entertain and educate through the power of visual storytelling. Beginning as a volunteer during the Montclair Film Festival, I have since been an advisor to the Junior Jury for documentaries at the festival and taught and assisted with classes in filmmaking, cinematography, and editing. Consultant for online learning to the Program Advisory Committee (PAC) as the college launched its first online courses (using Canvas) for an Online Bachelor of Science (BS) in Dental Hygiene. This is a degree completion program that provides an Associate Degree for registered dental hygienists (RDH).

Collaborative course development with faculty for the launch of CCM's new Virtual Campus initiative in fall 2019. These courses will adhere to the Federal Regulation definition, ADA and Section 508, and Quality Matters standards and will follow the principles of Universal Design of Learning (UDL).

The Passaic County Cultural & Heritage Council at Passaic County Community College is responsible for awarding grants for arts and cultural programs to organizations throughout the county. These grants encourage arts development and arts programs. The Online Professional Learning Exchange (OPLE) at NJIT partners with corporations and educational institutions to build online learning resources. The OPLE team and consultants work with subject matter experts to gather, process, organize and refine existing materials and, when needed, develop additional items. OPLE will also participate in face-to-face professional development events to pilot, review, and refine the online resources, while conducting research into quality improvement and usability.During 2014-2015, I worked with the NJ Dept. of Education and the New Jersey Principals & Supervisors Association to build online resources (in Moodle) for training teachers, principals and supervisors in the state using professional learning communities. I was the Director of the Passaic County Community College's five-year, $2.5 million grant awarded through the Department of Education’s Title V Program. This grant aimed at increasing achievement and program completion rates of Hispanic and other students by integrating critical thinking and writing skills into the college general education curriculum via the redesign of 30 courses as writing-intensive..The courses were supported by an intensive instructional development component that trained faculty in integrating critical thinking, technology and information literacy into writing. We also built a college Writing Center where students receive individual writing instruction and workshops.The program received the 2012 Diana Hacker Award for outstanding program from the National Council of Teachers of English and the Two Year College Association.
