I studied at the “Université Scientifique et Médicale de Grenoble” in France, earned my B.S. in Chemical Engineering with magna cum laude at the University of Tennessee; my M.S. in Systems Management with maxima cum laude at the University of Southern California (USC); a Certificate Degree in Systems Engineering at Caltech; and a Certificate of Satellite Thermal Control at UCLA. I am a member of Alpha Chi Sigma as well as the Phi Kappa Phi and Tau Beta Pi honor societies. I am a Senior Rocket Scientist with 36 years of experience with aerospace companies and NASA in the fields of manned and unmanned space vehicles. I am a recipient of the NASA Langley Research Center’s Chairman Certificate of Appreciation for my support of the Critical Evaluation Task Force investigating the causes of the 1986 Orbiter Challenger accident during my special assignment working at NASA Langley Research Center from 1986 to 1987.My vast experience in aerospace involved the Lunar Base and Mars projects; the launching and returning of the Space Shuttle safely back to earth; and the launching of Delta IV rockets with GPS and weather satellites. One aspect of my job involves the calculation of the sun position and its impact on the earth and space vehicles. My familiarization of the celestial mechanics enables me to understand the method used to produce the lunar-solar calendar. I authored and co-authored six technical papers: 1) AIAA 90-2816; 2) SAE 881035; 3) SAE 881081; 4) SAE 871427; 5) SAE 871417; 6) Simplified TRASYS User’s Manual, NASA Tech Briefs 1985.Outside of my job, my passion is historical research, generally on Southeast Asia, but particularly on Cambodia. I have dedicated the last 25 years writing about events related to Cambodia, including a book soon to be released.
