Instructor of Introduction to Creative Writing Workshop

Instructor of: Introduction to Literature (ENG 112L), Introduction to Creative Writing (ENG 300), The Short Story (ENG 336), The Craft of Fiction (ENG 456/556), Introduction to Technical Writing (ENG 231), and Introduction to English Composition (ENG 213).

-Responsible for the financial research, timely procurement, delivery, return and payment of such production implements as: camera, lighting, grip equipment and all corresponding accouterment, hard drives for media storage, widely varied props, shooting surfaces, backdrops, translights, artificial shrubbery and foliage as well as various client comforts such as magazines, gourmet coffee, transportation, tickets for theater and sporting events, etc.-Effectively communicated with directors, executive producers, assistant directors, lighting directors, key grips, gaffers, lead property masters and food stylists to gauge vital project needs and when they should arrive on set. Required not only active listening and critical thinking skills but also complex problem solving, spatial reasoning, sound judgement, and decision making as well-Acted as liaison between client/advertising agency personnel and production staff-Effectively communicated with a staff of 4-8 freelance production assistants, largely hired at my discretion on project-to-project basis, who were constantly moving about the 5 boroughs of New York City, New Jersey, and Connecticut picking up and dropping off necessary production supplies-Responsible for staying within parameters of production budgets that varied from $25,000 to $450,000 on a project-to-project basis-Responsible for up to $15,000 in petty cash for various expenses such as parking, gas, tolls, crew meals, hardware, food stylist supplies, prop purchases, expendables, etc.-Multitasking: able to work several projects at various stages of production simultaneously i.e. wrapping multiple jobs while shooting another and prepping several others-Actualized all expenditures at the wrap stage of every project, entering all payroll expenses, purchase orders, checks, credit card orders and petty cash spending into production budget

-Responsible for rental, maintenance, upkeep and organization of 1,500 square foot shooting stage as well as wood shop, industrial production kitchen, client lounge areas and 700 square foot prop storage room-In charge of procurement, maintenance, upkeep and organization of well over $1,000,000 worth of camera, grip and lighting equipment as well as expendables and hardware-Provided rental and organized invoicing for all equipment used on a project-to-project basis-Effectively communicated with all production and shooting crew heads to provide necessary shooting implements on a project-to-project basis-Acted as liaison between shooting crew and production departments-Effectively communicated with production assistants as help was needed-Assisted in the building and striking of small photography sets -Performed numerous multi-media/audio-visual installations in conference room and client lounge areas
