I developed my early career in structural engineering, which drew me towards the multiphysics aspects of façade engineering. After completing an MSc in Facade Engineering at the University of Bath, I joined the façade engineering team at Whitbybird where I developed my facade detailing skills, working closely with specialist contractors. I subsequently started the facade engineering team at Thornton Tomasetti in London, growing the team into a group of six engineers. I joined BuroHappold Engineering in 2013 leading the London Facade Engineering group until the beginning of 2021. I have now rejoined the family at Thornton Tomasetti as Façade Engineering Principal in London working with a truly exceptional global team. I have a keen interest in engineering design and detailing of façades, including performance requirements and specification monitoring. I have extensive experience in façade testing and site monitoring, working on a number of projects in the UK as well as in Europe, the Middle East and the USA. Through my doctoral research, I remain committed to advancing the state of knowledge in structural glass and wind engineering and have authored and presented numerous papers on these topics. I also sit on the CWCT technical group which is responsible for the development of technical standards for façades in the UK. I am also contributing to the development of the Structural Glass Eurocode as a committee member of the British Standards Institution.I maintain close links with universities, keen to help spread knowledge in the growing field of Facade Engineering by lecturing at the University of Delft and the University of the West of England.
