Kennon Smith Kennon Smith was the Technology Resources Manager for the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Committee in Washington, DC. In this role, he and his team are responsible for building wireless, Wi-Fi, and DS3 resources at all of the committee’s inaugural locations in Washington, DC for use by media, staff, vendors, and visitors.In 2012, Kennon was the lead Technology Resources Project Manager for the Democratic National Convention Committee in Charlotte, North Carolina. He managed the planning and implementation of the building of the technology infrastructure for the Bank of America Stadium, the proposed location of President Obama’s acceptance speech. Kennon and his team provided broadcast and closed circuit TV, fiber optics, wireless and Wi-Fi, LAN, and VOIP for media, staff, vendors, convention delegates, and visitors. Kennon also managed technology resources for the national and international press and the White House Communications Department which allowed them to communicate and send photos and story lines world-wide.Over the past five years, Kennon has managed his own company, Global Communications Services, Inc., in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. His company provides telecommunications and technology support for businesses, individuals, and organizations, including the Winston-Salem Urban League.Kennon has a Bachelor of Applied Science degree with a major in Information Systems Management from Winston-Salem State University. He also has an Associate in Applied Sciences degree in Electronic Engineering from Forsyth Technical College.
