I graduated with a degree in Rhetoric (which is known as the Greek study of of persuasion). A rhetorician’s job is to convey a strategic combination of words, with the goal of persuading an audience to take action...the action the rhetorician hopes. This objective cannot be achieved without leaning into that audience’s perspective, challenges and drivers. Today, I am fascinated by the practical application of philosophy and neuroscience in both life and business.This foundation of rhetoric and philosophy is what led me to marketing. Over the course of my career, I have cultivated that passion further by applying its knowledge in a business setting of correlating digital strategy and profitability.The first half of my career was on the agency side of digital, working as the strategic liaison between technology and business for a very wide array of clients and each of their unique challenges. From brand strategy to mobile applications, my career has been founded on overcoming an array of digital strategy obstacles in a variety of scenarios. From global B2B to local B2C, from Fortune 100 to small businesses, I have seen quite a bit and survived; learning how to develop and implement most any digital program.The second half of my career was on the client side of digital, not only defining digital strategies but leading teams in the execution and implementation of them. Digital transformation is a term often used in conjunction with digital revenue generation but that definition is too narrow. The role of digital in today’s business is much broader and meant to streamline operations, leading to increased profitability and cost avoidance.The 3rd leg of my career will be focused on creating something from nothing and doing some good along the way. Capitalism does not have to be a dirty word if your business does right by people and/or Planet Earth 🌎. At HATCH, we have a simple philosophy.
