I graduated with a master’s degree in History at KU Leuven, which gave me an open minded and balanced view on society. After several years as a deputy director in organisations with a focus on north-south relations, I became director at Forum Ethibel in July 2017. The independent, not-for-profit organisation Forum Ethibel promotes Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Socially Responsible Investing (SRI). My focus is to contribute in a pragmatic way to the quality of sustainable financial products and of sustainable portfolios of institutional investors. As member of the jury for the Awards for best Belgian Sustainability Reports, I can contribute to reward companies with a transparent and qualitative approach on reporting.Sustainability is not only about the environmental aspect: good governance and the social aspects are also key. Being member of the Human Rights Council of the city of Ghent gives me the opportunity to elaborate more on how Human Right can be integrated into the policies and practices of a city.35 years after the publication of the UN Brundtland Report (Our Common Future), sustainability is more important than ever. Luckily, it is not limited to individual choices, but becomes a key factor in doing business and canalizing investments.
