To summarise, I have been fully employed since leaving school in 1974 but for a few gaps where I moved jobs/countries.My role in my employment has always been in the field of precision engineering the vast majority of time being spent as a Toolmaker.I have enjoyed my chosen profession although there has been some blips due to manufacturing downturns.I continue to give 100% commitment to my employer on a daily basis and try to achieve a high standard at all times, I am a hard task master in as much as I expect everyone to set the same standards that I do and have pride in their workmanship. I installed that in my first and second apprentice and am currently training my third apprentice. I enjoy my job even on the days when it doesn't always go to plan!

My main job now is maintaining the vast array of mould and insert mould tools we have currently in production. I feel I am very highly skilled at the job I do and an honest and valued member of the staff at Interplex PMP, I doubt if anyone would say otherwise and this is something I am extremely proud of. I have recently been asked to undertake the role of 'lead toolmaker' within the mould tool toolroom, to be honest I already did most of the tasks associated with the new role but my company felt they wanted to give me recognition for this, fine by me.
