Responsible for and passionate about developing the rural economic area of South Lanarkshire including Clydesdale and Avondale. Ensuring the strengths of the area and opportunities the area have are fully used through developing partnerships and utilising funding helping communities and businesses within the area grow, develop and thrive. Responsible for developing new projects and initiatives, partnerships and funding for South Lanarkshire ensuring South Lanarkshire Council and partners are progressive and innovative in delivering services and activities for residents within the area.

Manage a team responsible for developing projects and securing funding to deliver the strategic objectives of South Lanarkshire Council and South Lanarkshire's Community Planning Partners.Reporting and presenting to senior management and the Corporate Management Team on funding opportunities and risks. Required to report and present to councillors and managers across the council on funding and projects. Responsible for negotiations with Scottish Government and partners on developing ESF and ERDF programmes within the area and ensuring their continued delivery to plan. Involved in the South Lanarkshire EU LEADER programme and delivery. Strategic projects are developed with with a wide range of partners to secure longer lasting change for the area. The team is target focused with an annual target of in excess of £5m required.Over £20m secured over the last 3 year period from a variety of funding sources including EU, Scottish Government, Lottery Funds (Sports Scotland, Hertige Lottery Fund, BIG Lottery Fund), landfill and environmental funds, charities, trusts and the private sector.Responsible for advising and developing new projects and partnerships, project scoping, project planning and business plan development.Working across all sectors from employability, business support, town centre regeneration, rural development, community development, health, sport, education, heritage and the environment
