KAP Guns is a retail Gun shop and range I started in my basement with no inventory. In 2012 I opened the retail location and put in an indoor range with 5 lanes. I started with the inventory from my basement totaling $40k worth of guns. Now I have over 500k in inventory and at least 50% of the market share in my area along with several customers driving from over 100 miles to visit my store.

When I realized there were no ice cream trucks in my area, I saw a great opportunity. I went to city hall and fought to overturn a 40 year old ban on street vending. When I was successful I bought a truck and started Kroozin Kooler. Three years later I had 4 trucks and 8-10 employees. I wanted to focus more on building my other business KAP Guns so I sold Kroozin Kooler.

Great Plains Drywall was a family owned primarily residential drywall company. I worked there from the time I was 8 years old over summer break and Christmas vacation. I went to work full time when I graduated high school and worked my way up into a management position. (Which for anybody that has worked for family knows it is a lot harder to get ahead when working for family because they have to show no favoritism and I had to work twice as hard to move up the chain of command) By 2001 I was running all day to day operations with my brother. At one time we had over 100 employees and working over 50 projects at the same time. I was measuring and bidding projects on site and from blueprints. I was ordering materials and scheduling employees and projects. I was putting in 60-70 hour work weeks at our busiest times. My extreme work ethic comes from this job.
