In this Deputy Garrison Chaplain role, I ensured appropriate and effective execution of mission services across a diverse community of over 25,000 personnel. Provided oversight to 9 FTEs, including two chaplains, five chaplain assistants, and two religious education directors. Served as leader of the faith community, overseeing ~52 monthly events, community programs and formation initiatives. As the 15th Sustainment Brigade Command Chaplain, I implemented Spiritual Care services for a 7000+ Soldier Brigade and their families who were of a variety of different faith traditions. Supervised 13 mid-level Chaplain teams who were a part of the overall Unit Ministry Team to ensure the delivery of high quality care chaplain care throughout all areas of responsibility.Key Highlights• Served as lead member of the Suicide Awareness Prevention Team responsible for preparing and conducting quarterly classes addressing suicide prevention training. • Developed and maintained a comprehensive budget through analysis and implementation that covered an Army Brigade comprised of over 6,000+ Soldiers and families.

Afghanistan

As the Mission Support Chaplain, I served as the lone Catholic chaplain providing religious services and ordinances to 20 different locations throughout southeast Afghanistan. Developed a visitation schedule for the unit ministry team to ensure that all combat Soldiers were able to have at least one pastoral visit monthly.

In this leadership role, I developed and implemented a comprehensive recruiting program to attract and retain top talent from across the country to become U.S. Army chaplains.Served as liaison between Recruiting Command and numerous Diocesan Bishops and religious congregations across the United States.
