Some of the noteworthy projects I was involved in during my tenure include: • As part of a project to migrate Citrix hosts and published applications from a regional Citrix farm to a global farm, I leveraged PowerShell to streamline the process. I used PowerShell to gather all necessary information from the regional farm and then created a machine catalog, added Citrix hosts to the catalog, created a delivery group, associated the hosts with the delivery group, published all applications, and assigned appropriate permissions to each application. The script was reused each time a new location was onboarded to Azure, resulting in a more efficient and automated approach to managing the Citrix farm.• My team was responsible for managing our Cloud resources, and I developed several tools to eliminate toil from our regular tasks. For instance: 1 - I built a tool to connect to Azure and create UltraShared Disks in the correct subscription/resource group using the required naming convention and configurations to support the migration of larger Database Servers to use UltraShared Disks. 2 - To remediate certain Azure VM configurations that could not be changed after the VM was created, I wrote a script that obtained all the necessary info of the VM, deleted it, and recreated it with the same disks and configuration while making the desired changes (such as defining availability sets during VM creation). Overall, these projects allowed me to enhance my technical skills and contribute to the success of MSC's IT operations. -
System AdministratorMoleq Usa Inc. Apr 2013 - Jul 2018MoleQ offers POS solutions and managed services to supermarkets, as well as a back-office solution for warehouses/wholesalers and franchises. During my time there, I led a team of six administrators and provided support to over 100 business clients. In addition to being a team lead, I undertook several projects aimed at simplifying our processes:• One of our VIP clients required a customized weekly report, which I automated using a combination of SQL queries and PowerShell. This automation saved us at least 15-30 minutes per week compared to generating the report manually.• We had several add-on services, such as a nightly SMS revenue report and daily database backup, which lacked monitoring. I wrote a script that would monitor these services and alert us if they stopped working correctly, allowing us to address any issues before clients could even report them.• To streamline the supermarket update process, I created a PowerShell app that would check for missing SQL store procedure updates and prevent any accidental oversight.• I had the opportunity to design a new infrastructure from scratch for a 75-person commercial HQ in New York and a 25-person office in California.
