The Deep Space Network contains three Deep Space Communications Complexes (DSCC's) around the world. They are at Goldstone, California, USA (GDSCC), Madrid, Spain (MDSCC) and Canberra, Australia (CDSCC). These are the sites where the large dish antennae are used to communicate with out spacecrafts in deep space (interestingly defined to be anywhere farther than the moon). Workers at these complexes have been using a software to schedule maintenance activities on the antennae for several years now, but this software is becoming quite outdated, and no maintenance is being done on it. At JPL, a new software for DSN scheduling is being developed, and my project is to extend this application to allow for the scheduling and editing of maintenance activities on the antennae.
