Owing to its unique features, silicone elastomer foam has great applications in photocatalysis, used as superabsorbent especially in oil/ water separation, wearable electronic. The highly customized design with 3D geometry complexity of silicone elastomer foam for specific applications can possibly be realized via 3D printing technique. The approaches to construct the 3D-structured silicone foam with tunable structures and properties were rarely been addressed mainly due to the liquid nature of silicone precursors and crosslinkers that hinder the 3D printing of silicone. Research Aims:To develop a porous silicone elastomer ink and printing related parameters for extrusion-based 3D printing of silicone foam with tuneable structure and properties. Silicone elastomer foam characterizations on its rheological properties, mechanical properties and physicochemical properties are carried out to establish the correlation between properties with: - (i) silicone elastomer ink formulation- (ii) printability. -
