Instructing two classes for the HVAC department, Applied Electrical and System Efficiency. Both programs share some commonalities such as how our trade has an influence in climate change and net zero energy building goals. The electrical program teaches students how circuits work, how to create and wire in electrical systems and HVAC systems, controls and automation, etc.The system efficiency program teaches students how to diagnose existing or install new systems to be as efficient as possible, where our installed systems typically fail, how to improve upon current installation types, controls for maximizing energy goals and comfort and so much more!

A member of this chapter since 1986, I have held many positions within the chapter including the title of chapter president. Right now, I am serving the chapter in a way that I can do the most good; providing excelling speakers for our monthly educational meetings, marketing the chapter to 11 area trade programs, distributing a printed newsletter to 31 area supply houses to promote the chapter to existing technicians, and hosting the occasional seminar. I am on the development team, creating new curriculum, or, "modules" for future programs. It feels so fantastic to give back some of the knowledge I have gained in this industry!

Then go to work here and you will find many decades of paper in hundreds of file cabinets and work with multiple programs that aren't linked to one another so you have to enter things three times to three separate programs to create a simple invoice for a customer, for example. Yikes! This is when I decided to make all those management headaches my own and start up Climate Pro!

Managed the operations of the company. Responsible for all gross profit costs control (above the line costs). Under my direction, I managed our dispatcher and up to sixteen service technicians. I approved all sales proposals for maintenance contracts being proposed to prospective customers. I also provided safety and educational meetings for the company on a weekly basis, set up equipment tasking for every HVAC system under contract, provided technical support for technician staff, and visited customers at their place of business.While at Linc, I was able to increase their gross profit to the corporate target level for the first time and many, many years!I loved this company and thought I would retire from there one day, but things surely did change once the new president started with the company and changed absolutely everything!

At Control Air, I was a commercial accounts service technician working on accounts from Long Beach to the mid-Wilshire Los Angeles area. This was a great company where I enjoyed my accounts very much and my co-workers. The owners really had things together. I left because I was actually working too many hours and no days off for months when things got crazy busy! That's a first. A fantastic company to work for!
