Practiced Six Sigma strategies by defining root causes to scrap and low production yield.Utilized process capability analysis to define and fix problems and qualify new process procedures/equipment. Explored and operated several manufacturing processes to determine where lean improvements could be executed. Collected and interpreted data to form a method of calculating the tool wear life to schedule tool changes. Executed standard work instructions to define tooling usage and process parameters on new equipment.Projects:SMT Stencil Inspection Station Designed an inspection station to qualify and inspect new and used Surface Mount Technology (SMT) stencils. Developed a new process to determine wear life of stencils by quantifying ideal properties with quality technology. Designed fixtures in CAD to implement visual, dimensional, and structural inspection into one 3’ x 4’ surface area. Solder Paste Qualification Performed material analysis and testing on a new solder paste material for surface mount technology.Assessed the capability of the paste to improve new product yields compared to the current paste.Built sample products for deconstruction to analyze and mitigate risks and confirm qualifications for the new paste.

•Utilized Gage R&R to test assembly machine’s measurement vision system for quality assurance.•Assumed responsibility of a full-time engineer’s daily projects while they were on leave. Main tasks were corrective action on assembly break downs and implementing process improvements brought by operators/team leads. •Designed an improved media sump that reduced risk of injury by eliminating daily manual shoveling.Assembly Program• Created a program with Excel VBA coding for operators to perform machine quality checklists. • Designed the program to be user-friendly for operators and made it similar to their previous hand-written checklists. • Removed monthly paper collection and distribution process across assembly floor. Programmed roughly 15,000 lines of code for the final prototype. Parts Wash Cycle Sump Tank • Designed a stainless-steel sloped bottom tank to be inserted into a concrete pit to collect used media. • Configured the slope design to centralize waste water and media towards pumps for waste removal. • Removed process of shoveling media from a 50-in deep pit making the process ergonomic and increased productivity. • Removed environmental hazard by designing the tank to line the pit preventing leakage through the concrete.
