The ability to rapidly introduce new products into the marketplace is crucial for CSP’s to compete with the new breed of content providers, many of which are not challenged with legacy Enterprise OSS systems. Being able to effectively, and easily provision new products is the best way to ensure continued success. As an OSS enterprise architect, I grew frustrated seeing the same problems occur again and again, regardless of the CSP’s product offering, regulatory challenges, or geographic location. To addresses these reoccurring issues, I co-founded DonRiver, and created an organization specializing in using software patterns, and layering techniques to simplify the OSS Enterprise experience for both the IT, and Business community. I am excited by concepts such as decomposing enterprise software into manageable components, NoSQL, Domain Driven Design, and utilizing techniques like agile delivery to remove the delivery ‘black hole’ that many CSP’s continually find themselves in with OSS solution delivery. DonRiver transform complex OSS solutions into individual business processes. This approach vastly reduces user acceptance and implementation time by making the solution and process intuitive.Most importantly, our approach to OSS removes the delivery ‘black hole progress report’ faced by IT departments by making implementations short, open, transparent, and simplified utilizing automated and repeatable testing tools.
