GPD employs over 200 dedicated professionals, including more than 150 officers, and has a social media following nearing 65,000. I leverage digital platforms to foster community relations and disseminate critical information to our community. Key Responsibilities:- Collaboration: Work closely with community groups, public service agencies, businesses, non-profits, and the community to identify outreach and partnership opportunities aimed at promoting safety and trust within our community. - Social Media Management: Responsible for managing the department's social media presence across multiple platforms while curating content that consistently informs, educates, and resonates with the community. - Copywriting: Curate and distribute written press releases on significant and serious police incidents, ensuring timely and accurate information reaches the public, stakeholders, and our media partners. - Media Relations: Plan and execute press conferences and news releases, maintaining direct collaboration with members of the media during large-scale incidents to ensure accurate coverage, while pushing earned media stories to the partners made. - Crisis Communication: Serve as a key liaison for media inquiries during critical incidents, helping to disseminate important updates, give command officers space to command, and foster a cooperative relationship between the department and the media.
