• Provide employment counselling and training to a diverse group of job-seekers from the community who may face multiple barriers to employment, including newcomers, persons with disabilities, older workers and students• Conduct assessments with participants to determine their education, training and skill levels, as well as their employment and/or training goals• Develop personalized short/long-term job and education goals, and return-to-work plans, which effectively address barriers that may be preventing them from obtaining employment or schooling• Train clients on resume and cover letter construction, interview preparation, networking strategies, building a compelling social media presence (e.g., LinkedIn), and conduct labour market information research• Create and deliver job search training workshops, addressing topics ranging from networking to interview preparation, for program participants and other audiences, including undergraduate and graduate STEM students participating in programs at the Lantern Institute• Assist clients in attaining placement opportunities and ensure their successful completion with monitoring and advice• Instruct participants on successful job retention strategies such as effective communication and interpersonal skills, understanding employee and employer obligations, and resolving possible conflicts• Offer information, support and referrals to other programs, agencies, education, training, or ESL opportunities
