- As a Deloitte contractor drove the R&D function and managed all outsourcing for Auvenir, LLP which is a new Deloitte business unit providing industry leading Auditing software for the financial industry. - Responsibilities included machine learning, security solutions, intellectual property, and product definition.

- Drove a multinational team (NA, India, Russia, UK) responsible for product quality for Avaya’s Unified Communications soft clients (PC, MAC, Android, iOS) and related communications server products as well as tier 4 product support and lab operations. (12 products in total, consistently came in on schedule and budget)- Successfully migrated the organization from high cost centers to low cost centers while maintaining a high level of effectiveness, meeting all scheduled target dates and quality levels while reducing operational costs by 74% for a savings of $3.8M/yr. - Transformed the organization from a manual testing group to a software engineering organization extensively leveraging test automation to enable continuous integration as well as driving combinatorial statistical techniques resulting in best in class quality. Reduced time to test by >10x with 36% less staff. - Drove tier-4 effectiveness with 61% reduction in time to repair and 58% reduction in active cases over one year (2014). The organization was show-cased as a model across Avaya.- Refocused the organization’s strategic direction to ensure business results.- Championed Agile development practices within the development organization.

- Headed a multinational teams (NA, India, Russia, Argentina, UK) addressing emerging products and technology, Avaya Professional Services quality and lab operations. - Drove the quality program for complex professional service projects worth multiple M$ for major Enterprise customers in the Americas, APAC and EMEA. More than 80 programs were delivered on-time and on-budget in 2011. Successfully presented complex programs to the customer at the C-level.- Established common development and quality practices, methodologies and criteria within Emerging Products to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of high quality products with 13 products managed..- Created new methodologies for automating testing of call center self service functionality and load testing resulting in a 50% efficiency improvement - Introduced and championed Agile development processes and practices within the development teams.

- Operated cross BU teams in effectively showcasing Nortel's technology to key customers.- Created a team for demonstrating fast prototypes of solution concepts enabling key customer engagements and significantly contributing to revenue growth in healthcare vertical ($80M – $230M in 3 yrs). e.g. Within 4 weeks the team created a transcription service for Healthcare based on Nortel’s Multimedia Communications System which saved one hospital $30k/month.- Established scenario based stage demos into Nortel with presentations made at HIMSS, World Telecom, Networld Interop, Investors Conferences, Suppliers Conference, Bell Canada Exec conference and to the Prime Minister of China. These events created significant mindshare for Nortel as a technology leader.- Drove development for Mobile Device Checkout product.- Effectively drove 3rd party technology companies to transition technology into Nortel including solutions for asset tracking and WLAN location technology and sensor technology (Internet of Things) for healthcare solutions.

- Established technical and strategic direction for Advanced Technology programs ensuring business relevance and technical excellence.- Headed teams of technical experts, recognized across industry, in developing new technologies in the areas of Seamless Mobility, Advanced QoS Mechanisms, High Performance Multimedia, Network Control Algorithms, Security Service Acceleration and Advanced Software Technologies (39 patents issued plus 2 pending).- Drove the development of timing synchronization for packet networks which resulted in Sync-Ethernet which was a key enabler for ensuring Industry leadership in the Metro Ethernet Network market. - Coordinated a team developing a 10Gbps all photonic switch with 10GE deployed in an experimental network (OmniNET) through a partnership with Northwestern University and SBC. This was an industry first.- Orchestrated the development of fast router protection technology (<50 msec) (an industry first), Technology was adopted for MPLS protection and formed the basis for RFC4090, RSVP-TE Fast Reroute (FRR)- Evaluated startups for Nortel equity investment including router/switching companies, photonic components, and ASICs including network processors.

- Spearheaded a multinational team working with Swisscom to establish the world’s largest GE network at Telecom 99 to service ~10,000 exhibitors – based on all Nortel technology. Included design and network build, training of support staff, network operations, marketing, and customer presentations.- Drove the development of the first Ethernet over DWDM concept vehicle for Nortel's Metro Optical switch (HW & SW) - Orchestrated the development of the first QoS enabled layer 3 router proof of concept product. - Coordinated a team developing advanced high speed non contact backplane technology for Nortel's flagship switching platform.

- Established and led multi-disciplinary teams for the testing and development of new material technologies, product Q&A testing and product reliability and safety and interconnect certification to government standards (CSA, FCC, UL).- Developed key techniques for enabling Nortel's leadership in reliability based on 6 Sigma and led a team to increase the DMS 100 line card reliability by >10x for a cost reduction of $11M/yr.- Established automated testing and report generation to increase lab efficiency and reduce lab testing times by greater than 10 times.- Effectively maintained lab operations and budget

- Design and development of solutions for Electro Magnetic Compatibility for Canadian Military contracts (Chinook helicopter, Sea King helicopter, CFB Trenton radar system) and Nortel Products including next generation fiber optic systems and Display phone .- Developed of a unique miniature EMC measurement system for measuring EM fields in Sidewinder missile nose cones for correlation to predictive simulations. - Created a software simulation system for EMC predictions on aircraft.- Developed of a software solution for predicting radio interference of Nortel products. This became a licensed 3rd party product.
