In 2015 I entered a new phase of my professional life, that of an elected Public Official. Successful implementation of personally developed strategies to attract demographic groups resulted in an overwhelming victory. Previously, I have been involved in politics from just about every other part of the spectrum besides holding public office. I was elected, along with Paul Woods in District 3, to bring back a more transparent, accountable, and service-oriented Highway District. Now, 4 and 8 years later I have been re-elected with the same constituent hopes along with more congestion-reducing solutions going forward. As of Dec 2021, I have filled two terms as Commission President.My past experience has included extensive experience delivering new business, sales, management & customer service results. Experienced public speaker, negotiator & trainer. In recent years I have managed successful political campaigns and would be happy to assist others in duplicating same. From 1989 to early 2010 has trained and managed staff in several industries including business equipment, advertising, and Insurance/Financial Services. Specializes in systems-based approaches to drive new business to clients. Radio Talk Show Host, KIOV Radio, “We’ve Got You Covered”. a consumer affairs show since 2001 broadcast over KGEM and KIOV 1450-AM radio. For over a decade developed, marketed and managed agricultural syndications in the breeding of registered Holstein cattle. Commissioner, Commission President, 2016 & 2021Ada County Highway District Jan 2015 - PresentI was sworn in as an ACHD Commissioner on January 7th, 2015 having won the election on November 4th. I was sworn in for a second term on January 9th, 2019 and again in January of 2023 for a third term.. All election campaign seasons were intense but with proper handling of the issues and the incredible support of the majority in my District, we prevailed. It is my sincere hope that all of the citizens of Ada County will continue to hold the ACHD's feet to the fire and allow me the opportunity to effectively assist in the creation of a more transparent, customer-focused, service-oriented ACHD. -
