President & Ceo
CurrentI am the co-founder of People’s Bank of Commerce and have served as its President and Chief Executive Officer since September 2008. I was the bank’s President from 1998 until 2008, when I succeeded as President and CEO, after Mike Sickels retired. I serve on the bank’s Asset/Liability and Senior Loan Committees. Formerly, I worked with Western Bank as Senior Vice President and Regional Administrator for Southern Oregon, before it was purchased by Washington Mutual in 1996. I currently serve on the Board of Directors for Asante, Jackson County Fair Board, Oregon Bankers Association and Chair the Community Banks of Oregon.. I have served as chairman of the board of directors for the Britt Festivals, Greater Medford Rotary, D-9 Foundation and the Oregon Bankers Association. I am also actively involved with 4-H, FFA and other youth organizations. In March of 1998 People’s Bank of Commerce opened with its strong philosophy of providing outstanding personalized service, and dedication to remaining a locally owned and operated bank. My partner, Mike Sickels, and I established the bank with a committed belief that if time and resources are reinvested locally, the community will benefit and the economy will thrive, creating partnerships that are strong enough to weather even the harshest of economic storms. Through sponsorships, charitable donations and spending countless hours serving a wide variety of non-profit organizations throughout Southern Oregon, My staff and I go the extra mile and are above all, devoted to the security and preservation of the community that we serve, and doing right by the valley’s most valuable resource—its people. I have long-standing relationship with some of the community organizations that I am actively involved with. My work with the Future Farmers of America and 4-H goes back into my childhood. I give credit to my involvement in these programs as a young boy for the work ethic that I am known for today.
