My long career in global education and capacity development began with educational exchange (bringing young professionals to the U.S. for graduate-level education), progressed to the establishment of overseas teaching and research institutions (graduate-level economics programs), and then moved on to developing new types of technology-assisted distributed learning for youth and adults. My technical work in education has included national teacher training reform, strategic planning, sector strategy review, learning assessment, and curriculum development.Along the way, I have helped manage a series of successful start-ups: two graduate schools of economics, the U.S. branch of a major Middle Eastern foundation, the overseas offices of a U.S. educational exchange organization, and my own not-for-profit.
