CurrentCurrently focused on leading the scaling, operations, and development critical development operation tooling infrastructure on a cloud native service mesh. Driving efficiency and improving developer experience across a globally distributed engineering organization is a passion of mine. The team I currently lead is responsible for the many developer tooling platforms at Roku. I create reusable scalable self-service CI components for developers to use. Some of the platforms I lead the development of include Backstage, Jenkins as a Service, Gitlab Runners as a Service, Highly Available Artifactory, a Cloud Native Hybrid Gitlab, and other miscellaneous development tooling.As the team lead, I am constantly collaborating with both external and internal stakeholders to prioritize and establish key metrics and adequately scale as Roku grows. Listening to customers and collecting feedback for internal tooling is critical to ensuring platform stability and a positive developer experience.As team lead, part of my duties includes grooming our backlog, prioritizing tasks, evaluating business impact, and championing the adoption of the standardized frameworks created.My passions include reducing friction for developers, accurately collecting key performance metrics to optimize development throughput, identifying and removing bottlenecks through self-service or automation, and developing reusable pipelines or frameworks.Current Focus areas:- Gathering feedback from primary internal and external stakeholders to deliver the most impactful functionality.- Leading & Developing CI/CD Components & Frameworks- Leading Adoption and Implementation of Backstage- Leading the scaling out of Gitlab + Artifactory and its services to support thousands of Engineers across the globe for complex and challenging build requirements- Improving Security standards through integrated CI/CD frameworks, stopping known vulnerabilities before hitting higher environments.
