Assists physical therapist in patient treatment and exercises. Input patient's completed exercises into flow sheets.Leads and demonstrate patient's exercises throughout their sessions for non-medical treatment.Applies heat packs, or cold packs to effected area.Has an understanding of basic human anatomy and physiology.Manages scheduling for patients; rescheduling patients are top priority.Intakes referrals of incoming patients; inputs all of patient's information and schedule for initial evaluation.Works close with the company's insurance team to verify patient's insurance information. Relays information in regards to deductibles, OOP Max, co-payments, and co-insurances for in clinic charges.Answers majority phone calls and provides upmost customer service.Multitask, fast past-paced environment of helping patients and taking care of clinic duties.Takes care of minor clinic clean up; wiping down equipment, clean tables, wash laundry, clean hydrocollator, put away clinic supplies and work out equipment.Order and restore clinic inventory supplies.Travels to other clinics in close location.Checks fax machine and communications from related locations in regards to patients.

My position consists of empowering youth towards developing and enhancing life skills, and assisting in making positive, successful decisions that impact youth’s home, school, health, and community life. I meet with youth ages 5-18, assess their individual needs, and develop a customized service plan, identifying their short and long term goals in collaboration with their parent/custodian and therapist.

I decided to take a year off after graduating from Morgan State University and commit to a service year with AmeriCorps, specifically with the organization Reading Partners in Baltimore, Maryland. This role aids in my journey to becoming a teacher by giving me professional experience with working with children and the experience of working in a school setting. I engage in activities such as teaching/tutoring, customer service, problem solving, working with teams, active listening, and many other duties. At the end of my service year, I hope to have built many other skills needed for graduate school and for my profession.
