Keon is a current Algonquin College student undertaking a graduate degree in theEnvironmental Management and Assessment program. Previously, he completed anundergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa, where he made theDean’s List. He became the first in his family to obtain a Bachelor of Science. He has built on hisprevious wealth of knowledge and has gained valuable insights into conducting EnvironmentalSite Assessments and manipulating maps to showcase valuable environmental data. Keon isdriven to witness and partake in creating fundamental change to create a more equitable andsustainable life for all. He often finds himself thinking of policies to enact that would aid thiscause. He desires to create local change by becoming an environmental consultant, ensuringlocal projects meet environmental standards and do not damage ecosystems or vulnerablecommunities. From there, the goal is to work his way up in scale and inspire change, ultimatelytackling large-scale problems such as climate change. In his day-to-day life, Keon is firmlyconscious of his carbon footprint and minimizes it as much as possible, making changes to hislife as needed, such as becoming a vegan in 2020. Lastly, Keon spreads contagious positiveenergy in an attempt to brighten everyone’s day.
