Depending on the event, the sales cycle can take up to 2 years and our guest count typically ranges from 25 to 1200 guests. During that time, I am the liaison between a client, the venue, and their vendors to ensure a cohesive quality design and to make the planning process as streamlined as possible for my client(s).

As we entered into a world of uncertainty with the Covid pandemic, the hospitality industry ceased to exist and I found myself without work so I had to be creative. I noticed drive-by parties became a trending way to celebrate life's happy moments and learned how to be a balloon stylist. I started my company called Color Block Media that would showcase my artistic skills in three areas; balloons, chalkboard art, and painting murals. I designed balloon displays for graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, grand openings. My murals and chalkart can be found in homes and businesses in several Southeastern US states. Over the last year, I caught the attention of a planner friend and soon my small business was acquired by her company KIS(cubed) Events.

Glover Park Brewery is a locally owned gem in the heart of historic downtown Marietta, GA. I became the Director of Events at an early stage of their event program and helped to design the upstairs event space to logistically make sense for brides and caterers. As the venue manager, I curated relationships with local and reliable vendors in the area to protect the reputation of the venue and ensure clients they would receive a high standard of service. I hosted weddings, photo shoots, corporate events, and birthday parties for up to 200. In the short time I was there, I designed a venue guide for potential clients, gave site visits, hosted monthly comedy nights and yoga sessions, and increased sales 400%. To keep multiple owners informed and our event sales organized I implemented the use of CRM software for tracking leads, sales, contracts, and payments.

As the Event Manager for The Roof of the historic Ponce City Market, I had the pleasure of growing a two person event team with one original venue into 6 venues and a multi-million dollar event business within 3 years. I spent countless hours working on every step of the event process. Steps such as answering leads, emails, phone calls, and handling site visits with clients. After drafting an RFP and the client signed the contract, I would include a detailed run of show in a BEO for our in house caterers. Logistical arrangements were also made with outside vendors such as furniture and linen rentals, florists, caterers, A/V techs, security, parking, building engineers, and cleaning crew to ensure an event's success. I directed hospitality staff in proper set up, execution, and break down techniques. Since the majority of the venues are outdoors, I was challenged to make somewhat impulsive but carefully curated decisions to create back up plans when there was inclement weather. At the conclusion of an event, I would provide our operations team with a recap of positive and negative feedback so we could continue to learn how to gain and retain business. A few of our regular clients included Google, Facebook, Mail Chimp, Coca-Cola, Chick-fil-A, Delta, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Athena Health, American Institute of Architects, the Atlanta Falcons, and Major League Soccer. Recently Atlanta has gained a reputation for being the “Hollywood of the South”. In this role I hosted celebrity wrap parties for the cast of Vampire Diaries, Marvel’s Black Panther, and the FX television show Atlanta. I also coordinated the Mayor's Ball for Kasim Reed.
