As an Independent Ecologist and team leader, my focus is on crafting comprehensive flora and fauna reports for environmental and social impact assessments, particularly in the context of renewable energy projects. With over 10 years of experience surveying birds and bats, I bring a deep understanding of these species to our projects. Effectively leading teams of up to 10 surveyors in the field, I ensure that our reports meet the high standards set by institutions like the World Bank, IFC, and EBRD.My active involvement in numerous projects is noteworthy, spanning over 40 wind farms, 3 construction projects, one airport, one pipeline, and two highways.

As a bird expert and conservation professional, I have had the privilege of contributing to impactful projects of WWF Turkey that showcase my commitment to avian biodiversity. From 2014 to 2018, I served as the Project Manager for the Turkish Breeding Bird Atlas Project, leading a dedicated team in the comprehensive documentation of Turkey’s breeding bird species. Additionally, I developed and managed the Conservation of Common Crane in Adana from 2013 to 2017, focusing on site and species conservation. My role in the Living Anatolia Index in 2013 reflects my expertise in managing and interpreting conservation data. I also worked as a biodiversity consultant for the Black Sea Education Box project from 2009 to 2010.

As a regular contributor to the NGM, I brought in my proficiency in bird names, distribution, behavior, and taxonomy, and deep understanding of avian ecology. During my role as an editor of scientific translations, I ensured accuracy and clarity in conveying complex ecological concepts. A notable achievement involves the development of standardized names of the birds of the world in Turkish, contributing to the accessibility and consistency of ornithological information at global scale.

As a birder, tourist guide and manager I co-founded Birdwatch Turkey Tours with Turkish birder Soner Bekir, I mostly lead tours for international tour companies, such as Naturetrek, Birding.de, Scanbird, Boleta Tours, Birdfinders, Lanius Tours, Birdquest, and Sunbird. Birdwatch Turkey became the leading incoming ecotourism acency in Turkey. However, the tourism crisis in 2015 brought a significant downturn, causing tour companies to suspend operations in Turkey. Unfortunately, I made the difficult decision to abandon this profession. Despite of these, I am still a licensed tourist guide.

Commencing as the Scientific Data Manager and subsequently advancing to the role of Program Officer for Important Bird Areas (IBA) in the Americas, I played a pivotal role in managing and enhancing site conservation for birds and biodiversity. During my tenure, I successfully edited and published the regional IBA inventory for Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia in Spanish, contributing to the comprehensive documentation of critical bird habitats in these countries. Coordinating this extensive project involved collaboration with 12 diverse organizations, scientific authorities, partners, and relevant governmental agencies across the five nations, showcasing my adept interpersonal and organizational skills. In addition, I provided line management for a project assistant and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
