I provide reference services to patrons of the Santa Clara County Library System on an on-call, substitute basis. I have worked at the Saratoga, Los Altos, Milpitas, and Cupertino community libraries in this capacity, and have worked in both the Children's and Adult's service areas.

I was the evening supervisor in charge of the Circulation Department at the De Anza College Library, and was the sole manager of the Academic Reserves collection, from July 2006 to June 2011. I returned to the Circulation Department in 2015, after a stint supervising the Library's Computer Lab, and am currently the Circulation Supervisor for the opening, morning, and early afternoon hours. As the morning Circulation Supervisor, I am responsible for opening the Library building in the mornings. I use the Ex Libris Alma LSP to create and maintain patron records and run reports; assist patrons at the Circulation Desk with all manner of inquiries and resolve issues pertaining to Library accounts; hire, train, and manage a student workforce of 15 to 20 individuals; and enforce Library policies. I collaborated with my circulation colleagues to draft new and more equitable fines and fees policies that are less punitive and better support the needs of our students. I continuously review and revise circulation policies, employee training materials, and instructional information and signage for patrons. I work in conjunction with the college's Office of Equity to create LibGuides on topics such as anti-racism, social justice, and honorary months of the year such as Black History Month. As the manager of the Reserves collection, I was responsible for collection development including adding and weeding materials, and creating and maintaining relationships with faculty and departments on campus to facilitate the enhancement and promotion of the collection. I also managed the Docutek ERes electronic reserves system, and trained faculty and departments in its use through group workshops and one-on-one instruction. I drafted new circulation policies when the Library began circulating laptop computers. I applied for, tracked, and spent an annual grant from the De Anza Student Body of $10,000 for the purchase of items for the Reserve collection.

Daytime supervisor in the Library West Computer Lab, a large, open-use computer lab that is part of the De Anza College Library. I facilitated access to the Lab's resources for currently enrolled De Anza and Foothill College students, including the use of both PC and iMac computers, scanners and printing services, materials for courses offered through the Distance Learning program, and technology tools such as USB drives and digital cameras. I hired, trained, and supervised our staff of student assistants. This position is service-oriented and I spent much of my time interacting with our patrons, whether to resolve issues with their library accounts such as fines or overdues, or to assist with computing questions and troubleshooting. I used the OCLC WMS system to create and maintain patron records, and to catalog and manage the Distance Learning resource collection.

I teach the online LIB 10 Information Competency course using the Canvas learning platform. Course sections average approximately 30 students per semester. I also provide reference services to patrons at the Mission College Library when needed; I assist students in the navigation of the Library's various online database offerings, as well as the online Library catalog and our print collection, and plan and deliver Library orientation sessions for classes.

I supervised the Circulation Department and its staff during weekend hours. I staffed the main Circulation Desk and assisted patrons with all manner of inquiries, including accessing the Library's OPAC, finding and checking out Library materials and reserves, and account inquiries including fines, overdues, and lost items. I oversaw the student assistants and assigned duties to them including shelving, shelf reading, and cleaning.
