Work with out patient severally mentally ill daily on social skills, life skills, socialization in the community, medication management, rehab services and case management.

My passion is helping others to succeed by teaching them appropriate skills in life and work so they can achieve their personal goals. As a career coach I counsel individuals in a pathway to guide them to a career in which they can succeed. Assisting with high school diploma achievement and GED obtainment is a critical element. I teach life skills, study skills and smart work ethics to teens on a regular basis. As an adult coach, I enable clients to reach their goals by assessing their educational skills, helping to determine their career choices, encouraging them to attend secondary education, and helping them enroll in WIA program. I teach resume writing and employment skills to help all clients obtain self-sufficiency. Administrative responsibilities include: monthly reporting on all clients, case management, processing incentives and stipends for youth and also processing payments to secondary education schools. My favorite part of this job is helping an at risk youth reach a goal they thought was impossible and seeing their eyes light up when they get the result of a passing score.

I was the Local Project Coordinator of an "at risk" homeless/runaway teen center in a rural area. The Bridge Program was a federal demonstration project as it pertained to a rural area with very few resources. I supervised on site staff and also supervised a transitional living house with two teens, who were otherwise homeless. I provided case management and reported to state agency on progress in the community and youth in this area. I collected data and completed monthly reports on how his project was impacting the community and clients were making positive strides to success. My priorities included getting community members to take pride and ownership of the youth in the area while engaging with the youth at the center to interact with other at-risk youth. I taught life skills, including money management, employment skills and social skills at alternative education schools.

I worked as a Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist (BHRS) with ages 3 to 75. I taught age-appropriate life skills, social skills, and money management to all groups, traveling to schools and homes to provide services. All clients at all ages had some form of mental illness.
