As Chief Government Relations Officer at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Keri leads strategic advocacy efforts to advance UWM’s mission and priorities. She builds and nurtures strong relationships with federal, state, and local elected officials through regular engagements, strategic initiatives, and tailored advocacy efforts. By fostering connections with key decision-makers and influencers, Keri positions UWM as a vital partner in driving innovation, education, and community impact.Keri served as Director of External and Government Relations at UWM, managing diverse outreach programs that included the Speakers Bureau, Neighborhood and Community Relations, the Panther Family Association, marketing partnerships with local sports and entertainment organizations, community engagement initiatives and UWM’s Board of Visitors. She also oversaw critical revenue generating areas like licensing and branded merchandise as well as compliance areas like public records.Keri’s earlier roles at UWM include Assistant Director for Learning Communities and Retention Initiatives, Manager of the Neighborhood Housing Office, and Residence Life Coordinator. In each position, she championed student success, enrollment management, campus-community collaboration, and organizational excellence.A dynamic speaker and experienced consultant, Keri has presented at regional and national conferences, secured numerous grants, and garnered awards recognizing her leadership. She is committed to fostering innovation, collaboration, and growth within higher education.Keri holds a bachelor’s degree in history and legal studies from UW-Whitewater and a master’s degree in education, with a focus on at-risk students, from UW-Milwaukee. She is a former elected board member of the Menomonee Falls School District and a certified yoga instructor, blending her professional expertise with a holistic approach to leadership and wellness.
