About Keri Myer
I am a first grade teacher in Cajon Valley Union School District at Rancho San Diego Elementary School. I have a heart for children and a desire to see them strengthen their academic abilities through a variety of engaging activities. I have worked with children in many different environments from tutoring while I was in high school, to nannying, being a camp counselor at Indian Hills Camp, as well as working at day camps at the YMCA. These experiences have helped me to see that students all learn and play in different ways and because of that, it is important that academic instruction is differentiated. I am currently working for my third year in a part-time first-grade teacher and part-time support teacher position. I have seen the impact that differentiated instruction has on students both in reading groups as well as in my first grade classroom. I am seeking a full time teaching job that will allow me to come alongside students and help them to meet grade-level standards and expectations, while also growing in character.

As a Camp Program Lead, I helped to ensure that campers are behaving respectfully and in accordance with the YMCA expectations regardless of activity. My role was to facilitate campers as they go through a day at the Y; including outdoor games, swim time, crafts, etc. I was able to interact with many different campers and help to make sure that they were enjoying their time while at camp and making sure that they all were safe and cared for.
