Strategic role within the Corporate Procurement Unit is responsible for analysing specific areas of council spend and providing the Operational Procurement Team with recommendations on the best route forward for any requirements.I am also responsible for the creation, and management of all procurement related template documentation across the council, as well as creation and delivery of a number of E-Learning modules such as Sustainable Procurement and Quick Quote training.

Working within the Housing, Customer and Building Services, Operational Services, Education and Social Policy categories within the Corporate Procurement Unit. Daily tasks range from working towards delivering requirements identified from low value, low risk to OJEU level contracts as well as Contract and Supplier Management and Stakeholder engagement. Additionally, I am heavily involved in data analysis, providing comprehensive reports to Category Managers / Chief Procurement Officer based on contract expenditure and contract performance.I have also been given the opportunity to take on additional tasks within the Corporate Procurement Unit such as; handling complaints, Freedom of Information officer, health and safety representative for the unit, administration of the Councils Procurement internet pages and Performance Management data collection officer, all of which involving a sense of responsibility and particularly with the recording of performance management, a high attention to detail.

Throughout my apprenticeship, there has been a focus on obtaining and improving all relevant skills needed in order to reach the goal of a successful Procurement Specialist / Buyer. I have completed a variety of tasks that have helped to achieve this. During my first year, I completed several compliance based tasks such as audits of purchasing systems to monitoring of Contracted spend for the whole of the council. My second year has allowed me to take the knowledge gained in the first and begin to focus on carrying out my own Tenders and managing contracted suppliers. I have also been given the opportunity to take on additional tasks within the Corporate Procurement Unit such as; handling complaints, health and safety representative for the unit, administration of the Councils Procurement internet pages and Performance Management data collection officer.As well as focusing on work experience, I have also managed to achieve an SVQ level 2 in Business and Administration, completing within five months of beginning the course. I have also completed my studies in the SVQ level 3 in Procurement, completing within four months. My current focus is working towards gaining the CIPS level 2 qualification, with the hope of continuing my CIPS studies throughout my career.

Assisted and worked to develop new updated range of products. Worked closely with Production and Marketing teams to ensure quality of product being bottled were of the standard agreed in the specification. Job role required taking responsibility for a single bottling line to carry out random inspections against the specification to ensure product met standards.Developed a high level of understanding of defects in products, also specifically trained by a glass manufacturer to be able to quickly spot any problems that may occur. This was then passed down to other members of the team in a presentation training scenario.

Provided customerswith a positive customer experience, incorporating the 6 core values of the Fossil brand. Achieved sales targets for every shift worked and provided in depth knowledge of products in the store. Stock control and merchandising were also required as part of the role. In addition to this, regular watch repairs were completed to a high standard and level of consistency.
