Assistant Principal over Operational and Instructional Innovation.

I have worked from the planning stages, as part of a team, to make this academy a reality. As the director, I help to re-imagine education for the 21st century. I oversee all budget, facility, personnel, marketing, discipline, and curriculum needs of the academy, while continuing to teach a programming course for 9-11th grade students. I have developed and implemented an annual professional development plan that includes over 200 hours of in-service opportunities for faculty focused on project-based learning and technology integration. I have developed and implemented an annual marketing plan to attract students and keep the community informed. I also work as part of the high school Leadership Team to ensure that our district and school goals remain at the heart of all that we do.

During this time period I taught many different courses including Web Design I-IV, PC Support I-IV, Programming, Technology Studies, and Yearbook, all in a one to one iMac learning environment. I was the webmaster for the high school website and many other local business websites. I managed and coordinated faculty and students for website design and development. I managed a student Help Desk team that serviced the school district’s tech issues and worked collaboratively with many school and county departments to coordinate tech solutions. I was able to coach 100% of third year students to pass the Comptia A+ and/or Adobe industry certification(s). I chaired the school Technology Committee and was a member of the district Technology Committee. I also facilitated various school and district-based, professional development sessions for faculty and staff and led an after school Technology Club for 9th-12th grade students, on a volunteer basis. In addition to all of this, I also volunteered weekly to lead/coordinate faculty, staff, and students to teach various tech topics to others.
